95 Stuffed

I would like to have a stuffed dog pattern fuzzy like this one But lots bigger

Later I saw stuffed dog patterns . There are hundreds of stuffed animal patterns.. just finding the general shape.

Before losing my saint I kept a lot of her hair with the intentions of replacing the stuffing's in the one I bought for her
but don't know if I can get it all back in or sew it back right

1  The size of the pattern (much larger than this one)  I suppose depends on how much hair I have to put in it. (If needed I could supplement some with stuffing's from her stuffed animals or foam)

2  How is the shape of the animal maintained.. The hair shaped or some kind of plastic piece placed inside?

3  It can't be material like on a pillow case or curtain but something fuzzy like this little one.

4  The colors of white and dark brown would need to be blended.. (different pieces of material?)

Not exactly like Kookie but so it does look like a Saint Bernard.

The stuffed I bought for her is in the pic I took of them together.

Anyone have an idea of how to create a large stuffed dog .. fuzzy n blended colors?

Thank you

One girl sells on etsy and produces look a like stuffed animals for a couple hundred dollars... look a like is not that important.

In the last years Kookie would be so excited to ride in back of the Jeep or truck n walk up the trail to get lots of pets n pics, to gaze over our city with others and take pics of sunsets.

(2022 our last summer on Mt P)

Brought her ashes n stuffed toy up the day they called me

When I knew she only had a few months I began brushing and keeping her hair with the intent of putting it in a stuffed animal.
Just talking to a dog.. (goofy I know) I said I would not come up on Mt Pleasant again with out a part of her being with me.

The morning before I took her for her last ride I cut a bit of hair off her ears and tail and whacked hair from beside my ears n back of my head.

Looking through the group pics I saw this one

Sorry for your loss, it is never easy to lose a fur baby ❤️

If the intent is to re-create the stuffed dog, I would first look into pattern-making or drafting.

Patterning is basically the process of making the shapes of fabric you will be sewing together so that the final plush holds form, shapes, and markings/colors where you want.

It is a great idea to start with pre-existing patterns - there are plenty of good dog patterns available out there!

The material looks to be brown, white and black faux furs, or fake fur.

You can get short pile faux furs online but I highly recommend starting with fabrics like fleece or felt as faux fur can be expensive and very hard to work with!

You can piece different colors of fur together to achieve the markings you want. Most stuffed animals are filled with “poly” fill, or polyester stuffing.

This can be bought at local craft stores or also online.

If you are looking to make a very large pattern, it is likely you will need more stuffing. You often need more stuffing than you’d expect, and this helps the final plush hold it’s shape as well.

The eyes and nose are likely “safety eyes/safety nose,” or plastic eyes that can be inserted into a plush.

You could also embroider or sew in eyes if you don’t have these on hand! Hope this helps, I can’t wait to see the result!

Madcap Menagerie · I read through a little of your blog. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Are you wanting a new stuffed animal made with Kookie's fur clippings, or do you want the fur added to her original doll?

If you or a loved one can learn one stitch—a ladder stitch—you could add Kookie's fur to the existing stuffed animal.

I found this video tutorial helpful when I was first learning it

 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XOIywYsDT-c

What you would do is cut along a seam in the doll, add the fur (maybe remove some stuffing to make room), and use the ladder stitch to sew it back up.

This is also a good way to preserve stuffed animals that need to be washed but can't go in the dryer, if it's too thick to air-dry. You can remove the stuffing, let the outer doll dry, and then restuff it.

The stuffing might also be able to air-dry once it's out of the doll.
